Abstract
Fiction is one of the most appealing genres of literature that can depict real life situations to highlight different problems, miseries and pleasures of human life. Fiction pertaining to a specific locality or people has its own tendencies and impacts. The fiction written about Kashmir in Punjabi literature occupies seemingly a big share to portray the miserable condition of the masses. In this specific fiction, the oppression of Kashmiris by the Dogras and Indian army has been portrayed. Besides this, the social problems of Kashmir and the Kashmiri people including social immorality, chaos, greed, hatred, oppression and selfishness as presented in the fiction under study have been analyzed in this paper.
